In spite of the rough start Rubycoin had, the community for the coin has held strong. Rubycoin released nearly a month ago, with hundreds of users in the IRC to support it. The Coin spec's do make it attractive to both short-term and long-term investors. RubyCoin, or RBY, will only generate a total of 60 million coins. Which by community standards, is a very low number, under Litecoin but above Bitcoin. There was a 2% pre-mine which was announced openly to the community and personally I can understand the need for starting purposes. In the time period since the release, bounties for projects have been paid and Rubies have been given away to users on their chat and via twitter. RBY is bringing a few new things to the game. While Bitcoin can normally take up to a hour for a transaction to process, RBY's transaction speed is complete within minutes. The block synchronization for RBY Wallet also has a advantage over the Bitcoin wallet, updates are quick and easy. RBY has integrated the Kimoto Gravity Well, a new popular way to avoid Multi-Pools. This will help avoid massive dumps, brought on by pools that switch to the most profitable coin. Multi-pools are known for driving a coin's difficulty to the roof, then leaving the core supporters of the coin stuck in an absurd difficulty. Currently the difficulty for mining RBY is 6.5 and steadily climbing. The development team has been very open and active in their community IRC channel (#RubyCoin.Org) The Team already has a working tip bot for their channel, as well as a dice game! With rumors of more to come. I feel as though, the coin is currently flying under the radar. Once users see the potential, there may be nothing to stop RBY. To keep fully up to date be sure to follow RubyCoin on Twitter or drop by their IRC Chat. | Total Coins To Be Generated - 60 Million Coin Algorithm - Scrypt Pre-Mine - Yes/2% Active - Yes Website - http://rubycoin.org/ |
